And The Award For The Best Anime Ever Made Goes To…
These words are the words that every anime creator wishes to hear as recognition of the endless efforts that go into the crafting of a flawless animation series. The masterminds behind One Piece have been bestowed with such honors, endless times, making the series one of the most awarded animated shows ever!
The reasons behind this massive appreciation become evident as soon as one tunes in to the One Piece episodes. Each of these episodes is the embodiment of perfection, with every aspect, right from the characterization to the writing being spot-on!
Being a devoted fan of the show, I thought of compiling all the awards that this franchise has ever received, as an honor to the entertainment that I’ve been enjoying on the show.
The first of them all was the ‘Animation Kobe Theme Song Award’, which was awarded to the TV anime in the year 2000. This one was for the theme song ‘We Are!’, which is still etched in our memories as clearly as it was back then.
The next honor that came the show’s way was in 2001, when the show ranked 9th among TV anime in Japan. In the same year, it was also voted by viewers in Japan as one of the anime series that should be remembered throughout the 21st Century.
But that was just the beginning! The best was yet to come.
After its television launch, it took no time to rank in lists like ‘Best New Anime of 2001′ and ‘Favorite Anime Series’, in 2002 and 2004 respectively. The show was creating ripples as characters like Luffy and Buggy went on to become household names, and viewers were left begging for more.
The final feather in the cap of the show was it being ranked 4th in a nationwide survey carried out among teenagers. All this went on to prove that the show has been welcomed with open arms and is here to stay!
