One Piece is an action, adventure; comedy-drama derived from Manga publications whose original author is Eiichiro Oda. TV anime One Piece seasons have been written by Tatsuya Hamazaki and produced in Toei Animation studios. Konosuke Uda, Junji Shimizu, Munehisa Sakai and Hiroaki Miyamoto have directed this anime series. The production license has been granted by Avex, Madman Entertainment and Funimation Entertainment and show is broadcasted on Toonami, YTV, Cartoon Network, 4Kids TV, Cartoon Network and Network Ten. One piece season 1 was released on 20th October, 1999.
One Piece seasons follow the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young boy who gets inspired by his childhood hero “Red-Haired” Shanks, to find out the legendary treasure of Gol D. Roger, the deceased King of Pirates. He gets miraculous powers after eating a magical fruit. The treasure is known as ‘One Piece’ and to get it, one has to cross The Grand Line, the most perilous and fatal ocean. He sets his journey from island to island by trailing the path of the deceased king. He captains Straw Hat Pirates and his crew keeps growing with addition of shipwright, musician, an archeologist, a doctor, a cook, a sniper and a swordsman. Lots of movies and video games based on ‘One Piece’ seasons have been released. In 2005, it has been voted 6th most popular TV show overall and 4th among teenagers by the viewers who watch this show regularly. In 2000, the series opening theme, ‘We Are’ won the Animation Kobe Theme Song Award. Next year, it achieved 9th place among all TV animes and 5th among the memorable anime TV shows of 21st century.
